EnterpriseDB Names Fred Holahan Vice President of Marketing

Senior Technology Executive Brings Leadership in Infrastructure Software and Open Source Market Development

EDISON, N.J., Sep. 30, 2008 - EnterpriseDB, the leading enterprise open source database company, today announced that it has named Fred Holahan as the company's vice president of marketing. Holahan will report directly to chief executive officer Ed Boyajian. Biographies of the company's entire leadership team are available at http://www.enterprisedb.com/company/executive-team.

Prior to joining EnterpriseDB, Holahan was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Active Endpoints, a business process management and automation software company. At Active Endpoints, Holahan identified emerging market opportunities for the company's solutions and drove customer adoption using a disruptive, dual-license open source software strategy. He also negotiated multi-million dollar OEM deals with leading technology companies including Siebel Systems and Software AG.

"I'm delighted to welcome Fred to the EnterpriseDB team," said Boyajian. "He has a rare understanding of both the infrastructure software market and open source go-to-market strategies that are a perfect fit for our company. Fred brings the leadership, vision, and entrepreneurial experience we need to successfully execute our marketing and business strategies at this critical stage of growth."

Prior to founding Active Endpoints, Holahan was the co-founder and chief executive officer of GemLogic, which delivered the first standards-based (JEE) integration server. While at GemLogic, Holahan negotiated the company's acquisition by SilverStream Software (acquired by Novell in 2002) and served as SilverStream's line-of-business executive for business integration and Web services solutions. Prior to that, Holahan was the co-founder and chief executive officer of LexiBridge, where he conceived the company's software migration products and services, and created the "migration factory" concept for service repeatability and scaling. Holahan also successfully negotiated LexiBridge's acquisition by PKS Integration Services (today, part of Level 3 Communications).

Earlier in his career, Holahan held technical, product management, and executive marketing roles at Interactive Data Corporation, Progress Software, and DataEase International. He holds an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from Babson College Olin School of Management and a B.Sc. in management science from the University of Maine.
