Expanded International Operations Fuel Growth
Bill Doyle Joins as SVP, Business Development

ISELIN, N.J., Apr. 18, 2007 – EnterpriseDB, maker of the world’s most affordable enterprise-class database, announced today that it achieved record financial results and reached other important commercial milestones during the quarter ending Mar. 31, 2007. The company also announced that Bill Doyle, formerly with Deltek Systems, has joined EnterpriseDB’s executive team as senior vice president, business development. Biographies of Doyle and the rest of the team are available at http://www.enterprisedb.com/company/executive-team.

In the first quarter, EnterpriseDB exceeded its revenue plan for the fifth consecutive quarter, with revenue contributions from both new and existing customers. More than twice as many new customers were added as in the fourth quarter of 2006. Key customer wins in the e-commerce, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and healthcare industries highlighted EnterpriseDB Advanced Server’s suitability for demanding OLTP applications. The company’s newly established international operations contributed substantially to the results. European revenues exceeded targets by more than 100%, and several strategic partners and new customers were signed in Asia and Australia.

“EnterpriseDB combines the lower cost and flexibility of open source software with commercial service and support subscriptions familiar to enterprise users,“ said Jay Lyman, analyst with The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, in his report. Lyman added “Oracle compatibility makes it an interesting option for Oracle customers looking to cut costs.” These comments appeared in an independent report, titled “One year on: EnterpriseDB wants a bigger slice of Oracle’s core database business,” which was published on February 1 of this year (see Editor’s Note below).

Bill Doyle joins the company from Deltek Systems, the leading provider of financial systems for project-based business, where he was vice president, strategic alliances. Previously, he was vice president, channel sales, at Netezza Corporation, the leading data warehouse appliance provider. Before that, Bill served as vice president, global alliances, at MicroStrategy, a leading business intelligence enterprise platform provider. Bill was also the founder of software development firm Operations Management Software and a principal at American Management Systems. He holds a degree in computer science from Penn State.

“EnterpriseDB’s significant cost advantages are multiplied for ISVs and systems integrators that incorporate EnterpriseDB Advanced Server into their offerings,” said Andy Astor, chief executive officer, EnterpriseDB. “Bill Doyle’s extensive experience building successful channel programs will accelerate the expansion of the community of partner companies enjoying these advantages.”
