1 Introduction : 1.1 What’s New

The following database compatibility for Oracle features have been added to Advanced Server 9.5 to create Advanced Server 9.6:
Advanced Server now supports the PARALLEL clause in the CREATE FUNCTION command for enabling parallel sequential scans. For more information, see section 2.3.20.
Advanced Server now supports the PARALLEL clause in the CREATE PROCEDURE command for enabling parallel sequential scans. For more information, see section 2.3.25.
Advanced Server now supports the PARALLEL clause when defining functions and procedures within the CREATE PACKAGE BODY command. The PARALLEL clause allows for enabling of parallel sequential scans for functions and procedures within a package. For more information, see section 2.3.24.
Advanced Server now supports usage of the postgres_fdw foreign data wrapper for creating a database link to a remote Postgres database with the CREATE DATABASE LINK command. In addition, pushdown to the foreign server now occurs for join and sort operations of tables referenced with a database link created with the Oracle oci-dblink. For more information, see Section 2.3.18.
Advanced Server now supports the REFERENCING OLD AS old NEW AS new clause in the CREATE TRIGGER command. For more information, see section 2.3.35.
