3 Using a Package Manager to Install Advanced Server : 3.2 Configuring a Package Installation : 3.2.1 Creating a Database Cluster and Starting the Service

To create a database cluster in the PGDATA directory, that listens on the port specified by PGPORT, invoke the service script:
Use the chkconfig command to arrange for the operating system to autostart the Advanced Server service when the system is operating in runlevel 2, 3, 4 or 5.
