EDB Migration Tool Kit

Quick and easy migration to PostgreSQL and EDB Advanced Server

EDB Migration Tool Kit

EDB Migration Tool Kit

EDB’s Migration Toolkit (MTK) migrates tables, data, stored procedures (Oracle only) and custom developed packages (Oracle only) from SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle and MySQL to EDB Advanced Server. More limited capabilities are available for migrations to PostgreSQL.

Offline Migration versus Online Migration

Offline Migration versus Online Migration

Databases can be migrated online using live JDBC connections. The data is available for immediate use. When choosing offline migration, MTK creates a series of DDL statements that can be replayed at a later time. The DBA can specify whether or not to include table constraints/triggers/indexes, manage bulk inserts, apply row filters, change data types inline, specify subsets of schema objects to migrate or all. A fast data migration mode utilizes parallel data movement techniques, can bypass logging for faster data loads and can use native connectivity to the source database.
