EDB Postgres Enterprise, EDB Postgres Standard and EDB Postgres Ark DBaaS Framework subscribers receive licensing to selected EDB software programs and premium software support that includes: maintenance software upgrades, security upgrades, technical alerts and around-the-clock technical support.

Support Incident Types

The types of incidents supported and not supported are noted below.

Non-production environments include but are not limited to: installations for application developers, QA or test setups and non-production staging environments.

"Severity 1 Error" means a catastrophic Error in the Software which severely impacts Customer’s systems, or in which the Software in Customer’s systems are down or not functioning; or an Error in the Software which is causing a loss of data and no procedural work around exists. Severity 1 Errors also include security breaches.

"Severity 2 Error" means the Software is operational but certain major functions are not performing in accordance with the Documentation and no workaround is available.

"Severity 3 Error" means minor functions of the Software are not performing in accordance with the Documentation.

Production Support Exclusions

  • A failure of hardware, equipment or programs not covered by Support
  • Customer’s failure to comply with operating instructions contained in the Documentation
  • A modification, enhancement or customization of the Software by anyone other than EnterpriseDB
  • Any cause or causes beyond the reasonable control of EnterpriseDB (e.g. floods, fires, loss of electricity or other utilities), errors arising from anything other than Software, such as, web-servers or hardware
  • Installation, configuration, management and operation of the Customer’s applications
  • APIs, interfaces, or data formats other than those included with the Software
  • Products installed in an environment not supported by EnterpriseDB or EnterpriseDB products beyond their Extended Support lifecycle
  • Licensing for non-production use of EDB Postgres Advanced Server and all EDB Postgres Tools
  • Applies only to software obtained from the EnterpriseDB website or an EnterpriseDB repository
  • Does not cover changes to your PostgreSQL distribution’s source code

Note: Production support does not include assistance in learning how to write database applications using one of the many languages supported by PostgreSQL. It does however, include help in tracking down suspected bugs or issues directly related to a language.

Notes for EDB Postgres Platform

Note A: uniCore means either of the following: a) a processor core in a single or multi-core processor chip or b) a virtual core processor (also known as a vCore, virtual CPU or vCPU) used to assign computing resources to a virtual machine or container. uniCores may be freely de-commissioned from one deployment environment and re-deployed to another (e.g. de-commission your physical deployment and re-deploy to a virtual environment).

Note B: The EDB™ Limited Use License is free upon download and allows 60 day evaluation use of EDB Postgres Advanced Server and EDB Postgres Tools in non-production environments only. The EDB Subscription, Support and Services Agreement is available by purchase only and allows non-production use of EDB Postgres Advanced Server with EDB Postgres Tools in an EDB Postgres Developer subscription and production use in an EDB Postgres Enterprise subscription.

Note C: All EDB Postgres Tools are licensed under the EDB Subscription, Support and Services Agreement. EDB Postgres Tools are not sold separately and are only available as part of a purchased database subscription.

Note D: The open source versions of EDB Postgres Data Adapters must be downloaded from https://github.com/EnterpriseDB/ where they are known as Foreign Data Wrappers (FDWs).

Note E: The EDB Postgres Database Migration Assessment Tool is included as part of an optional paid service engagement.

Notes for EDB Postgres Ark

Note 1: Database Maintenance and Support Services are covered under a separately purchased subscription for EDB Postgres Enterprise or EDB Postgres Standard.

Note 2: e.g. One EDB Postgres Ark Server = 1 EDB Postgres Ark installation = 1 UOM, two servers = 2 EDB Postgres Ark installations = 2 UOM etc.
