EDB Support for Pivotal Cloud Foundry

EDB Cloud Foundry Service Broker supports quick friction free deployment and management of EDB Postgres in support of your digital innovation. EDB supports two models for integration with Pivotal’s Cloud Foundry PaaS solution. PostgreSQL instances can provision multiple databases within what is called a “Postgres cluster”. Our direct to Postgres integration allows a DBA to set up a connection to a PostgreSQL or EDB Postgres Advanced Server database instance and then our EDB service broker provisions databases within that instance. This provides a very cost effective way to provision development databases

Cloud Foundry Integration with EDB Ark

The Service Broker for EDB Ark enables provisioning of enterprise ready database clusters and integrates into your dev/ops flow for friction free digital innovation.

The Cloud Foundry Integration with EDB Ark enables provisioning and de-provisioning of database clusters supporting high availability, failover management, backup, and elastic scalability of both storage and compute from within the Cloud Foundry App Manager. Developers, quality assurance personnel, and operations staff can provision database clusters with a few clicks and bind their applications to the service. Each instance provisioned can be used privately or support the creation of other databases within that instance, just like in the shared model.

OpenShift

The EDB Postgres Platform can be deployed in OpenShift V3 as a series of containers, orchestrated by Kubernetes scripts and configured through YAML scripts, which provide a clustered solution for high availability and read scaling. The solution includes EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS) for data management, pgPool for query routing and connection pooling, the EDB Failover Manager (EFM) for high availability, the EDB Backup and Recovery Tool (Bart) for backup/recovery and the Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM) for management, monitoring and alerting.
