EDB is one of the major contributors to Postgres, and we are dedicated to enabling our customers maximize their Postgres database environments by leveraging both EDB commercial and open source extensions to increase data scalability and access.
We reinforced that commitment today by announcing the release of several new Postgres extensions available for your clusters in our fully managed BigAnimal cloud Postgres-as-a-Service. These added extensions include:
- EDB Wait States: an extension available in EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS), EDB Postgres Extended Server (PGE), and PostgreSQL that is used for monitoring and diagnosing performance issues.
- EDB Query Advisor: an extension available in EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS), EDB Postgres Extended Server (PGE), and PostgreSQL that generates index recommendations for improving performance by keeping statistics on predicates found in WHERE statements, JOIN clauses, and workload queries.
- PG Failover Slots: an open-source PostgreSQL extension that makes logical replication slots usable across a physical failover.
You can enable any of these extensions for your clusters by using the CREATE EXTENSION PostgreSQL command.
