Migrating Postgres schemas Innovation Release

Migrating a Postgres schema in Hybrid Manager (HM) is simpler than Oracle's — no compatibility conversion is needed. Choose how to import the schema to the destination database: automatically as part of the data migration (Simplified), or manually beforehand (Manual).

Postgres refers to all distributions supported by HM: PostgreSQL, Enterprise Postgres (PGE), and Enterprise Postgres Oracle compatible (EPAS).

Prerequisites

  • Register your Postgres database with HM via the EDB Postgres AI agent. HM creates a Migration Portal project automatically once the agent finishes loading the schema — see Managing Migration Portal projects for details, including how to create a project manually if automatic creation didn't happen. You don't need to open Migration Portal for either approach below; it's useful mainly for viewing the schema or recreating the project if you delete it or the source schema changes.
