Certification Drives Customer Adoption by Ensuring Seamless Integration of EnterpriseDB and JBoss Middleware
LAS VEGAS, JBOSS WORLD, June 13, 2006 — EnterpriseDB, the world’s leading enterprise-class, open source database company, today announced that EnterpriseDB Advanced Server is now certified for both the JBoss Application Server and the Hibernate object/relational persistence engine. As a result, EnterpriseDB Advanced Server has been designated a “JBoss Certified Solution“. This certification, which ensures seamless deployment and simplifies customers’ implementations to drive down costs, builds on the companies’ strategic partnership, which was announced in April, 2006.
“EnterpriseDB’s JBoss partnership and certification assures us that mission-critical elements of our IT infrastructure — our database and middleware — will reliably interoperate,” said Terry Sick, vice president of product development and engineering, EnerNOC, the leading provider of technology-enabled energy demand response and energy management solutions in the United States. “In addition, EnterpriseDB’s mature support for advanced enterprise database features like triggers and stored procedures and its blazing-fast performance make EnterpriseDB Advanced Server a perfect fit for us.”
“We’re pleased that EnterpriseDB Advanced Server has been certified to work with JBoss Application Server and Hibernate,” said Tom Cooper, vice president of worldwide channels, JBoss, a division of Red Hat, Inc. “Certified solution partners such as EnterpriseDB help extend the JBoss community by supporting and enhancing the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS) platform for customers.”
On June 28, EnterpriseDB and JBoss will jointly present a live webinar entitled “Mission Critical Open Source Solutions.” The webinar, which will cover the use of open source software for mission-critical IT infrastructure, is free of charge, and interested persons may register at www.jboss.com/services/online_education. The webinar is the first in a series of three to be jointly presented by EnterpriseDB and JBoss in 2006. The topics, dates, and registration information for the other webinars will be announced soon.
EnterpriseDB is a Preferred Sponsor of JBoss World. The company’s co-founder and chief technology officer, Denis Lussier, will deliver a presentation entitled “Using JBoss Messaging in the Enterprise” on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:20 p.m. as part of JBoss World’s “Applying JEMS Technology: Best Practices” track. EnterpriseDB will be demonstrating EnterpriseDB Advanced Server in Booth #207 at the conference.
