ISELIN, N.J., Aug. 30, 2006 – EnterpriseDB, the world’s leading enterprise open source database company, announced today that software industry veteran Dave Litwack has been elected to the EnterpriseDB board of directors. Litwack joins Philip Merrick, chairman, Andy Astor, founder and chief executive officer, Denis Lussier, founder and chief architect, Jack Lewis, Gene Riechers, Austin Westerling, and Dave Power on the company’s board. Biographies of all the company’s directors may be found on the company’s website at www.enterprisedb.com.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dave to the board, as this is an exciting time in the evolution of the company. We have recently closed $20 million in new financing, and this month we received the LinuxWorld Product Excellence Award for Best Database Solution, beating Oracle and other open source competition, for the second consecutive year,“ said Andy Astor, chief executive officer, EnterpriseDB. “Dave’s substantial experience in the database and enterprise software businesses will make him an invaluable asset as EnterpriseDB accelerates its growth. We are looking forward to working with Dave as EnterpriseDB continues to transform the enterprise database market.“

Litwack served as executive vice president responsible for product development at Cullinet Software, a mainframe database management company. Subsequently, he founded Powersoft, the leading client/server development tool vendor. Powersoft was acquired by Sybase, where Litwack, as executive vice president, again headed all product development.

After helping to drive the first two major phases of computing - mainframes and client/server - Litwack became co-founder and chief executive officer of SilverStream Software, one of the first companies to provide a Java-based application server. SilverStream was acquired by Novell, where Litwack served as senior vice president until 2005. Litwack also serves on the boards of directors of 170 Systems and mValent.
