Subscription Pricing and Support Plans Unveiled

SAN FRANCISCO, LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE AND EXPO, August 9, 2005 –EnterpriseDB Corporation, an enterprise database company, announced today at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo that the company has released the General Availability version of the company's flagship product, EnterpriseDB 2005, and pricing information for the company's license and technical support plans. The release marks the end of the software's beta program, which began on May 23rd. EnterpriseDB 2005 is an enterprise-class database that is built on PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database. It delivers Oracle compatibility as well as performance enhancements over PostgreSQL. More information and EnterpriseDB 2005 downloads are available from the company's website at www.enterprisedb.com.

"We spent this summer's beta program ensuring the quality and completeness of our product, which is now 100% production-ready," said EnterpriseDB CEO Andy Astor. "Even before we finished, we announced software quality test results that were ten times better than MySQL's and a hundred times better than average commercial code. Combined with the aggressive pricing we announced today, EnterpriseDB 2005 should be a top consideration for every enterprise, especially those seeking to leverage previous Oracle investments."

EnterpriseDB 2005 is free for evaluation, development and low-volume deployments. The free license includes unlimited Web-based technical support. Enterprise software licenses and technical support are available in three tiers. The Silver tier, which costs $1,000 per CPU per year, provides a software update and patch service, unlimited email and Web support and business-day telephone support. The Gold tier, which costs $3,000 per CPU per year, adds faster response for email support and 24/7 telephone support. The Platinum tier, which costs $5,000 per CPU per year, adds a perpetual software license, a designated technical account manager, intellectual property indemnification and on-request production tuning.

About EnterpriseDB 2005

EnterpriseDB Corporation enhanced PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database, to create EnterpriseDB 2005. EnterpriseDB 2005 delivers enterprise-compatibility, Oracle-compatibility and budget-compatibility - in short, EnterpriseDB is "business compatible".

Enterprise compatibility means that EnterpriseDB 2005 runs significantly faster than most other databases, including MySQL, in typical transactional applications and that it is robust and reliable, as its record-low defect rate - 100 times less than average commercial software - demonstrates. Oracle compatibility means that many applications written for Oracle will run unmodified on EnterpriseDB 2005. Budget compatibility means that EnterpriseDB 2005's inexpensive pricing reflects its open source heritage and that its linear, per-CPU pricing structure is economical for deployments of all sizes.

EnterpriseDB 2005 includes EnterpriseDB Database Server, the RDBMS engine, EnterpriseDB Studio, a console for developers and DBAs, and EnterpriseDB Connectors, which provide access to EnterpriseDB 2005 from JDBC, ODBC, .NET, ESQL/C++, PHP, Perl and Python.

EnterpriseDB will be demonstrating EnterpriseDB 2005 in booth #552 at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo, August 8-11 in San Francisco. EnterpriseDB has donated space in its booth to enable the PostgreSQL community to have a presence at the show, and community representatives will also be present in the booth each day.
