250% Top-Line and New Customer Growth, Innovative New Products Among Year's Highlights; Continuing Success Projected in 2008

EDISON, N.J., Jan. 8, 2008 - EnterpriseDB, the Oracle-compatible database company, announced today the company's 2007 results, highlighted by year-over-year growth exceeding 250%, measured in terms of both sales and customer acquisition. Other noteworthy 2007 achievements included important customer wins, the establishment of the EnterpriseDB Postgres Resource Center, the receipt of prestigious industry awards, new product introductions, and dramatically expanded contributions to the Postgres open source community.

Oracle Compatibility, Postgres Foundation Drive Customer Selection

In 2007, leading companies, including FTD, one of the world's largest floral companies, and FortiusOne, an emerging leader in next-generation intelligent mapping solutions, selected the EnterpriseDB Advanced Server relational database management system (RDBMS) for its ability to run applications written for Oracle, its enterprise-class performance and stability, its rock-solid Postgres foundation, and its affordability. ISVs, including Tomax, the leading provider of real-time merchandising and store execution applications and services, also chose EnterpriseDB for inclusion in their own products. In addition, EnterpriseDB had a support subscription renewal rate of more than 90%.

“In 2007, we were delighted to see the vast majority of our early customers renew their subscriptions. More importantly, many of these customers made significant additional investments in EnterpriseDB solutions and services. This is terrific validation of the quality of our products, the expertise of our people, and our commitment to customer service excellence,“ said Andy Astor, chief executive officer, EnterpriseDB. ”We will continue to build upon this foundation in 2008, and we look forward to major additional customer and partner announcements during the first half of the year.”

Continuing Critical Acclaim

For the third consecutive year, EnterpriseDB took top honors at LinuxWorld, beating Oracle and others for the “Best Database Solution” award at the 2007 LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in San Francisco. The company was also a finalist for the SIIA CODiE award for the second consecutive year.

Innovative New Products

In 2007, EnterpriseDB introduced EnterpriseDB Postgres, the first-ever professional-grade distribution of the open source Postgres database for Linux. Versions of EnterpriseDB Postgres for Windows and Mac also reached general availability. During the year, the company also introduced GridSQL, a powerful business intelligence and data warehousing solution that enables applications to transparently access clusters of databases as if they were single databases.

EnterpriseDB also significantly enhanced its flagship product, EnterpriseDB Advanced Server, releasing two major upgrades during the year. New features introduced in 2007 included SQL*Plus and SQL*Loader emulation, support for Oracle Call Interface (OCI), and automated migration of data from MySQL, SQL Server, and Sybase databases.

Postgres Community Contributions

EnterpriseDB is a recognized leader of the Postgres open source community and a frequent contributor of critical technology enhancements. In 2007, the company contributed “Heap-Only Tuples” (HOT), which significantly increases Postgres' performance over long periods of time in update-intensive OLTP applications. HOT is among the most complex changes to Postgres to be implemented in the last several years. HOT was conceived, designed, implemented, and shepherded through the Postgres community development process by the EnterpriseDB team.

In 2007, the company established the EnterpriseDB Postgres Resource Center, a community-based website for enterprise application developers and DBAs. The Postgres Resource Center provides free downloads of EnterpriseDB Postgres and serves as a rich repository of technical information, tools, and other valuable Postgres resources. The EnterpriseDB Postgres Resource Center is located at postgres.enterprisedb.com.

Heikki Linnakangas and Pavan Deolasee, prominent Postgres community members, became EnterpriseDB employees in 2007, joining Postgres community leader Bruce Momjian, Dave Page, Korry Douglas, Jonah Harris, Greg Stark, and other recognized Postgres contributors at the company.
