Garland Hall to Become Chief Customer Officer;
Chris Van Wagoner to Lead Marketing Organization
ISELIN, N.J., June 29, 2006 — EnterpriseDB, the world’s leading enterprise-class, open source database company, today announced that Garland Hall, formerly chief customer officer of webMethods, has joined EnterpriseDB as its chief customer officer and that Chris Van Wagoner, formerly of CommVault, has joined EnterpriseDB as vice president of marketing. The company also announced that Derek Rodner, formerly of Unisys and the first elected chairman of the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) Data Center Linux Marketing Board, has joined the company as director of product marketing. Prior to joining EnterpriseDB, Garland Hall was vice president at Composite Software, where he managed the company’s strategic alliances. He was responsible for the integration of Composite’s offerings with partners’ products and the development of go-to-market plans. Previously, Garland served as chief customer officer at webMethods, Inc., where he was responsible for all facets of customer relationship management. His role included the development of programs to manage customer satisfaction and customers’ overall webMethods experience. Prior to joining webMethods, he managed customer service groups for KPMG Consulting and Descartes Systems Group.
Chris Van Wagoner was previously senior director of strategic marketing at CommVault Systems, where he was responsible for marketing and messaging strategy for the company, its products, and its services. During his 10-year career at CommVault, Chris led the successful launch of the QiNetix data management platform, driving the business to become the second largest ISV in the category in four years. Chris also assembled the company’s world-class marketing organization. Earlier in his career, Chris served in senior management roles at leading marketing communications companies in the business-to-business technology, consumer packaged goods, and consumer technology markets.
Prior to joining EnterpriseDB, Derek Rodner was responsible for launching Unisys’s Linux initiative and was instrumental in the company’s open source strategy. Derek was also the first elected chairman of the Data Center Linux Marketing Board for Open Source Development Labs (OSDL). Previously, Derek was founder and president of a business re-engineering firm for Fortune 500 companies.
