EnterpriseDB Signs on as Exclusive Platinum Sponsor of PG East 2010 to Enhance Industry's Largest Independent Open Source Database Event
Semiannual PostgreSQL conference expanded to include additional training sessions, more end-user participation and greater open source community involvement
WESTFORD, Mass., February 3, 2010 - EnterpriseDB, the enterprise Postgres company, today announced that it has become the exclusive Platinum corporate sponsor of the PostgreSQL community's semiannual conference - PG East 2010. The EnterpriseDB sponsorship investment will enable the expansion of the conference to include an extra day of training sessions, greater end-user participation, more networking opportunities, additional technical sessions and increased involvement from the larger PostgreSQL ecosystem.
PG East 2010 will take place at the Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 25 . 28, 2010 and will feature a number of technical sessions from PostgreSQL community leaders Bruce Momjian, Joshua Drake, Dave Page, and Magnus Hagander. Also included are end-user presentations from organizations successfully using PostgreSQL, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Vonage.
"PG East and PG West have been very successful PostgreSQL events for years," said Joshua D. Drake, president, United States PostgreSQL. "But, thanks in part to the Platinum sponsorship by EnterpriseDB, PG East is set to be the most successful PostgreSQL event in history. The recent consolidation in the database market has caused PostgreSQL to become the most influential community in the industry. The new format of PG East will help further strengthen the growing PostgreSQL ecosystem."
With programs created to appeal to administrators, developers, end-users and IT decision makers, PG East 2010 is a four-day event designed to serve current and potential PostgreSQL users. The event includes a full schedule of technical skill building sessions, training, tutorials and social events, as well as many one-on-one opportunities to meet with core project contributors to discuss priorities for the next PostgreSQL release.
"2010 will be the defining year for PostgreSQL adoption in the enterprise," said Ed Boyajian, president and CEO of EnterpriseDB. "With a long and distinguished history of being the most technically advanced open source database project, we are proud to sponsor PG East 2010 as the premier PostgreSQL event this spring. This year's PG East conference is as much about the core technology as it is about those who use it to solve business challenges."
Technical Skill Building and Training
Many of the top minds of the community will be on-hand to present their ideas for PostgreSQL. Attendees will learn the latest tips and tricks, and have the opportunity to get their most challenging questions answered from those who wrote the code. The show provides three-days of intense technical skills building and opportunities to interact with the broader PostgreSQL community. Bruce Momjian and Joshua Drake will each be hosting dedicated four-hour training classes.
End User Participation and Access to the Broader PostgreSQL Ecosystem
With a goal of bringing together PostgreSQL developers with the growing base of end-users, this year's conference will include content developed from the broader partner ecosystem. There will be a number of customer sessions that will showcase how companies are building solutions and solving business problems with PostgreSQL today.
