DRITA and Pgbench for PostgreSQL DBAs

The Dynamic Runtime Instrumentation Tools Architecture (DRITA) allows DBAs to query catalog views to determine the wait events that affect the performance of individual sessions or the system as a whole. The functions in DRITA return information comparable to the information contained in an Oracle Statspack/AWR report.

Pgbench is a program/tool for running benchmark tests in Postgresql. It helps to test real-time cases by writing your own transaction script files and to measure the performance of database features essential to applications.
In this webinar, we will discuss the capabilities of DRITA and Pgbench in PostgreSQL with a demo.

Key learnings:

  • How to configure and use DRITA
  • Different DRITA Functions
  • How to run benchmark tests using PgBench
