Starting today you can explore your data in BigAnimal using Apache Superset’s rich visualizations. Available upon request, Apache Superset® is an easy-to-use enterprise business intelligence tool that can process large amounts of data, turning them into charts and graphs.
With Superset’s visualizations, you can get a better sense of how your data breaks down using dashboards and reports to uncover new insights.
Unleash the Power of Your Data with Superset® + BigAnimal
Let’s take a look at what’s possible when you combine Superset® with BigAnimal.
To get to Superset®, first log into your BigAnimal account. Then, click on Summary under the Analyze tab on the left which will bring you into Superset.
Within Superset’s top navigation, click on Databases, under Data.
On the Databases page, you can see your existing BigAnimal databases. In the top right, you can click on the Database button to connect a new database.
Once you’ve connected your database, you can query and leverage other Superset® features to visualize and explore your data. Superset® has 2 main methods for exploring data:
- Chart & Dashboards
- SQL Lab
With Charts you can select your dataset and customize your visualization with no code.
Dashboards allow you to dive a step further and slice the charts you’ve created into a more granular view. For example, you could take a chart showing all company sales for the year, and then slice it into a more detailed dashboard view by product line for the quarter.
Where Charts & Dashboards are best for no-code, quick visualizations, SQL Lab focuses on queries. Using Superset’s SQL Lab feature, you can use a multi-tab environment that allows you to work on multiple queries to your BigAnimal databases at a time, an easy way to visualize your query results, and support for long running queries.
