Version 1.6.0 of Barman, Backup and Recovery Manager for PostgreSQL, has been released.
Barman is now able to receive WAL files via streaming replication protocol, as an additional channel (not yet an exclusive one – we are working on it). This feature reduces the risk of data loss (RPO), through the transparent integration of pg_receivexlog in Barman.
A thorough refactoring activity and more attention to checks, make 1.6.0 the most stable and robust version for Barman available (you are advised to update your installations as soon as possible). As for any previous version of Barman, this release is back-compatible.
