Upcoming Events and Speaking Engagements
The EDB team has a busy month ahead with an abundance of events and speaking engagements this March. We hope to see you out on the road and have a chance to talk to you about all things Postgres.
March 18-21: See EDB at the Gartner Data & Analytics 2019 Conference
First up is our trip to the Gartner Data & Analytics 2019 conference, from March 18-21 at the Orlando World Center Marriott. Our own Ken Rugg, EDB's Chief Product and Strategy Officer, will be speaking on March 20th at 10:30am in the Sabal Room.
Ken will discuss the compelling topic, 7 Database Management Risks You Didn’t Know You Have. Ken will open your eyes to how your database management choices can have long-term effects, as the DBMS is the heart of operations with vital enterprise data. He’ll review database risks and how those affect the enterprise, including lock-in to a data platform/cloud, unpredictable costs, overreaching audits, data platform security, and inconsistencies across hybrid/cloud and open source data platforms without enterprise-grade support. Then continue the conversation by visiting the EDB Booth: #535.
March 18-21: See EDB at PostgresConf 2019
Concurrent to the Gartner conference, we will also be attending PostgresConf 2019, from March 18-21 at the Sheraton New York Times Square. If your not planning to be in Orlando, hopefully we will see you in New York! Our own Marc Linster, EDB's Senior Vice President of Product Development, will be speaking on March 20th at 10:20am in the New York Ballroom East.
Marc’s talk, A Look at the Global Economic Impact of Postgres, will offering a unique perspective on the global economic impact of Postgres development. He’ll share his experts insights on how the tremendous ecosystem surrounding Postgres continues to develop and is impacting markets the world over.
Also, EDB’s Prashant Agarwal will share a 50-minute technical session, Migrating from Oracle to Enterprise-Ready Postgres in the Cloud. Prashant will offer step-by-step instructions for executing a migration from Oracle to Postgres. Prashant’s talk will take place on March 21st, starting at 9:00am in the Gramercy room.
Later that afternoon, EDB’s Abbas Butt will over a deep dive into Replication in PostgreSQL. Participants will learn how to configure a two node cluster for each replication approach that is available in PostgreSQL and how to perform failover in case of a failure. Be sure to join Abbas at 1pm on March 19th in the Sutton Place room.
Then, continue the conversation by visiting the EDB Booth: #D1.
