We at EDB are pleased to announce that we have completed validation testing of Nutanix AHV for it to now support the latest versions of EDB Postgres Advanced Server, versions 14 and 15. Nutanix AHV is the native Nutanix hypervisor that offers virtualization capabilities needed to deploy and manage enterprise applications. It complements the value of Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) by integrating native virtualization along with networking, infrastructure, and operations management within a single intuitive interface—Nutanix Prism.
Our customers can now take advantage of the Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) feature available in EDB Postgres Advanced Server version 15 and use it with Nutanix AHV. The TDE capability encrypts transparently to the user, any user data stored on disk in the database system. User data includes the actual data stored in tables and other objects and system catalog data.
In addition to being able to take advantage of features available in EDB Postgres Advanced Server version 15, customers can also use Nutanix AHV with EDB Postgres Advanced Server version 14. It offers customers features such as:
- An improved indexing and lookup system
- A level up on query planning when using extended statistics
- Improved performance for queries that use aggregates or partitioned tables
- Parallelized vacuuming
- Incremental sorting
