What Is Sovereign Assurance?

EDB Sovereign Assurance is a curated, outcome-focused services experience included with your EDB software subscription, available to customers who purchase a minimum 3-year software subscription. It pairs you with a Technical Account Manager (TAM) and a flexible library of packaged service blocks, designed to accelerate deployment, and continuously expand the value of your EDB Postgres AI investment.

From day one, your TAM works with you to understand your environment, your team's capabilities, and your business objectives. Together, you build a services plan tailored to where you are today and adjust it as your priorities evolve.

 

How It Works

Sovereign Assurance is built on two integrated components that work together throughout your engagement:

Your Technical Account Manager

Your TAM is your primary EDB point of contact — a Postgres expert who knows your environment and advocates for your success. Your TAM delivers:

  • Ongoing Advisory and Strategic Guidance aligned to your roadmap
  • Business Reviews to assess progress against your objectives
  • Best Practice workshops setting the foundation for success
  • Renewal and expansion planning to ensure your EDB investment keeps pace with your growth
     

Service Blocks

Service blocks are aligned with fixed-scope, outcome-defined engagements drawn from EDB's Velocity Services library. Each service block has a clear objective, value, and defined activities. Each concludes with a Post Workshop step that includes delivery of a Services Engagement Completion Report and agreed deliverables, reviewed via web conference — so you always know what was accomplished. 

Your tier determines how many blocks are available each 12-months during your software subscription. You select which Services to activate based on guidance from your TAM, your current priorities, available blocks, and software subscriptions. Sovereign Assurance is available in five tiers, each designed to match the scale and complexity of your EDB deployment. Your tier is determined by your annual contract value.

TAM hours represent advisory time per calendar month. Service blocks are allocated for each 12-month period within your software subscription term and must be fully utilized within each such 12-month period. If not used within such a timeframe, the service block entitlement will be forfeited.

 

Velocity Services Library

Each Velocity Service has a corresponding block value. Your TAM will help you identify which services align best with your current stage, objectives, and available blocks. 

Services available include:

  • Architecture Design for Self Managed Workloads
  • Deployment of EDB-supported software including:
    • EFM
    • Postgres Distributed (PGD)
    • EDB supported k8s operators, including Cloud Native Postgres
    • Hybrid Manager
    • WarehousePG
  • Optimization of Postgres and WarehousePG Deployments
  • Upgrades
  • Enablement of EDB features in Hybrid Manager including:
    • Agentic Database
    • Agentic Migration
    • Converged Analytics
    • AI Factory

Customers can purchase additional blocks or individual Service Packages via a separate order form. 
 

Annual Service Period

Sovereign Assurance entitlements apply during each 12-months of your EDB software subscription. TAM hours and service blocks must be used within that period or are forfeited.

On a regular cadence, you and your TAM will review your objectives to identify which Velocity services best fit your needs — ensuring your Velocity Experience stays aligned with where your business is going.

    • Architecture design, migration planning, and deployment support
    • Hands-on enablement for your team
    • Performance optimization and use case expansion
    • AI and advanced capability enablement

  • Renewal and expansion planning
