When you think of the engine that drives a global enterprise, you might think of code or sales, but the fuel for that engine is revenue. Managing that flow requires a unique blend of high-energy grit and meticulous systems thinking.
In our "A Day in the Life" series, we explore the essential roles and individuals creating market impact at EDB. Today, we’re featuring our latest video spotlight with Shruti Nair, Global Collections Manager, who recently celebrated a decade with EDB.
A Day in the Life: The Thrill of the Result
For Shruti, there is no better way to kick off the morning than seeing the tangible impact of her team’s efforts. Her day starts with a deep dive into the numbers that represent EDB’s global growth.
"Nothing beats starting a day with a successful collection. I mean, that's what we are here for," Shruti shares. "Seeing those results is really motivating because it's tangible proof of the hard work that my team does. It's the primary driver that keeps us focused on delivering results."
She advises anyone looking to join her world to bring a high level of energy and a “can-do” spirit. "If you enjoy a high-stakes environment and get a kick out of seeing hard work translated directly into revenue, you will fit right in."
Bridging the Gap: Automating for Scale
Shruti looks for opportunities to streamline internal workflows alongside her account management responsibilities. A key project involved bridging the gap between ERP and CRM systems to automate data transfers. This collaboration with IT and operations saved the team significant time each day, allowing for a more efficient and data-driven approach to their core tasks.
A Decade of Trust and Well-being
Having spent ten years at EDB, Shruti has seen the company evolve, but she notes that the foundation of trust has remained constant. In a 100% remote environment, that trust is what empowers her to lead effectively.
"Trust becomes a real foundation of everything that we do,” she says. “It's really empowering to know that I have support and the trust of all my leadership, which enables me to manage the workflows of my team and drive results independently."
This professional trust is balanced by a deep respect for personal time, most notably through Wellness Fridays. "It’s a total game changer for me and gives a very good work-life balance,” Shruti says. "It allows me to disconnect through the long weekend, recharge, and when I come back on Mondays, I am clean as a slate, refreshed, and full of energy."
For Shruti, EDB isn't just a workplace, it’s where she has built a decade-long success story. "I look at myself 10 years back and I can see that I have grown so much personally and professionally,” she concludes. “You can see and feel your contributions are directly impacting the company's success."
