Date -2007-05-22 ISELIN, N.J. and LONDON, UK – 22 May 2007 – EnterpriseDB, maker of the world’s most affordable enterprise-class database, announces today the appointment of David Curle as Partner Manager, EMEA to head up their newly expanded Partner Programme across the region. He comes to EnterpriseDB having held previous partner management roles at HP, BearingPoint and Computer Associates.
Curle is leading the development of EnterpriseDB’s partner initiative in EMEA, actively seeking partners that are dedicated to delivering cost effective solutions and committed to customer satisfaction. The Partner Programme is an integral part to EnterpriseDB’s overall strategy for the EMEA region and essential to building the skills base to meet its customers’ needs. It is already well on its way with partners Redpill in Sweden and Conduct in Norway.
EnterpriseDB is disrupting the database market by offering an Oracle-compatible database that significantly reduces TCO whilst still retaining true enterprise-class functionality. This makes it simple for companies to adopt EnterpriseDB for new applications or to migrate existing systems with little effort and minimal risk.
“EnterpriseDB’s value proposition is simple and compelling, offering partners the ability to go to market with a proven solution that reduces database TCO for the end user” says Curle. “Over the years, having seen some of the best and worst partnering strategies, it is a privilege to have the opportunity to lead EnterpriseDB’s partner programme across EMEA from the outset, and to get it right from the start.”
EnterpriseDB will help partners to:
- Enter more markets and create new or incremental business through a lower cost Oracle-compatible database alternative
- Drive higher margin business
- Increase customer account control
- Develop innovative and powerful, cost-competitive application offerings
In turn, EnterpriseDB’s partners can offer their customers the ability to:
- Achieve an 80% database cost saving while retaining enterprise-class performance, scalability, security and reliability
- Fund new projects and applications through reduced database TCO
- Leverage their existing skills while minimising the cost and effort of migration through powerful Oracle compatibility
- Gain leverage through a multi-source database strategy
- Tap into the benefits of open source without the burden, risk or uncertainty of community involvement or reliance
David has over 20 years experience in the enterprise IT industry and brings his vast understanding of building and executing key partner programmes to EnterpriseDB. He has not only held senior management positions at BearingPoint, Computer Associates, but also Lotus, Unisys and Hewlett Packard. Throughout his career, he has been involved in Business Development projects and has established significant new business through his ISV, partner and channel management roles.
Steve Bale, General Manager, EMEA comments “David’s excellent credentials and experience will ensure the effective execution of the Partner Programme, delivering real value to our partners and customers across EMEA. We are delighted to have him join and help us further establish EnterpriseDB as a key player in the database market.”
