The Empire Strikes Back: Amazon Kicks Oracle Out

As the US news portal "CNBC" reported, Amazon plans to completely abolish Oracle software by early 2020. The reason: Oracle is not able to keep pace with AWS and other providers of cloud infrastructures. Barely two years ago, when Oracle CEO Larry Ellison announced the 18c database version, he did so with a visible pleasure in performance comparisons: the Oracle software in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud versus the Oracle database in Oracle's own cloud. The in-house platform won in all cases. In addition, Oracle served its cloud competitor with fewer fresh updates.
